I snapped in the elevator on my way home tonight. That's 11 logos by my count.
I love this. Dutch designers Frederik Molenschot and Susanne Happle have created Solid Poetry patio tiles—normal looking concrete tiles that reveal a beautiful floral pattern when exposed to moisture. A quick Google search reveals that they may be experiencing some developmental problems. Let's hope they get those technical issues ironed out soon so this product can get to market. The world could use more pleasant surprises. And flowers, for that matter.

Here's a wine that strips away all pretense (as well as typically vital information such as grape varietal and vintage year). Wine That Loves is a new brand from the Amazing Food Wine Co. of New York. The idea is simple. Help consumers pair the right wine with the right meal. Love the packaging, which was developed by New York's Lippincott Mercer. No doubt, wine aficionados will be appalled. For them, the complexity of selecting and enjoying wine is a big part of the appeal. For the rest of us, this brand certainly makes wine less intimidating. But it also signals to the world (okay, the two other shoppers in the aisle) that we're ignorant about wine. It might be true, but it's hard to admit. Right now, my local cashier probably assumes I know my wine. I would hate to disillusion him. What about you? Would you try it? Why or why not?

I really like Barack Obama's campaign logo. It avoids that tired, boldfaced, sans serif look so often used by politicians. And while Hillary just slaps an American flag under her name, Obama works his imagery into an actual concept (perhaps one of the few conceptual logos in the history of presidential elections). It's refreshingly different, which is exactly how Obama hopes to position himself throughout the upcoming campaign. The logo is fresh, airy, and (as Joe Biden might say), clean.
